Ahmed Shawqi-Ameer al-Shu'ara', (the prince of poets), was the greatest Arabic poets laureate, an Egyptian poet and dramatist who pioneered the modern Egyptian literary movement, most notably introducing the genre of poetic epics to the Arabic literary tradition.
