Our class has been reading and discussing a variety of stories in order to gain a good understanding of the elements of fiction. After analyzing many books together, we created planners for characters, setting, and plot. After planning, we wrote our first drafts. Everyone received critique from peers, parents, and the teacher. Elements of critique are to be kind, be specific, and be helpful. Some ways students give each other critique are by saying "Something that confused me was..." or "Maybe you could..." We spent a lot of time revising. We hope you enjoy reading our work! --Katrina van der Linden, Third Grade Teacher
