Samuel Shepard Rogers III, conhecido pelo nome artístico de Sam Shepard, foi um ator, cineasta, escritor, roteirista e autor de teatro americano, com uma carreira de 54 anos. Foi o autor de 44 peças de teatro, livros de contos e ensaios e memórias. Recebeu o Prêmio Pulitzer de Teatro pela peça Buried Child.
