Professor de psicopatologia infantil na Universidade de Sussex, Reino Unido. Historicamente, ele pesquisa o desenvolvimento emocional infantil, mas, cada vez mais, vem passando seu tempo em uma caverna escura iluminada por vagalumes escutando heavy metal e rock dos anos 70 e analisando planilhas com números. Sua empolgação incontrolável em ensinar estatística para psicólogos resultou em prêmios de docência pela Universidade de Sussex (2001, 2015, 2016) e pela British Psychological Society (2006), além de uma prestigiada National Teaching Fellowship (2010).
