The stories in this book focus on the author's personal experience in the areas of marriage, family, friendship, discontent, death, and war. With unsettling honesty, she confronts the often undiscussed issues that arise in almost every human life. As a grateful civilian, she also seeks to understand the human consequences of war through the stories of individual soldiers she has encountered. Ms. Megathlin coordinates the 3rd Infantry Division Adopt-a-Soldier program, and in October of 2010, she spent two weeks with the 3-15 Infantry Regiment at Camp Ramadi in Iraq.
