My child's school now teaches reading, English, and spelling out of one "language arts" book, but they don't send any books home. If a child needs extra studying beyond the homework assignments, we have to find study materials on our own, since nothng is provided by the school. The school uses books published by Harcourt, so I bought this workbook hoping to use it for extra styding. It really ties in nicely to what they are studying at school, even though it is not exactly the same book they are using. I also have the Harcourt math workbook, and it seems like all the Harcourt materials are the same no matter what edition you have or the school has, because a lot of the math pages are exactly the same as what they are using in school, too. For each lesson, this workbook has about 4 pages of lessons (the practice), then another page front and back to test it (the reteach). Highly recommend whether homeschooling or not.
