Ceridwen Dovey nasceu na África do Sul e foi criada entre este país e a Austrália. Estudou antropologia social em Harvard, período em que realizou Aftertaste, documentário sobre os trabalhadores nas vinícolas sul-africanas. Seu primeiro romance, Blood Kin, escrito enquanto vivia na Cidade do Cabo, foi publicado em quinze países e incluído pela US National Book Foundation na prestigiada lista “5 under 35”, que seleciona cinco estreias na ficção de autores com menos de 35 anos cuja obra deixa uma impressão duradoura no cenário literário. Só os Animais Salvam, seu segundo livro, ganhou o Readings New Australian Writing Award e o Steele Rudd Award (coletânea de contos) no 2014 Queensland Literary Awards. Ela mora com o marido e o filho em Sydney, Austrália. |
