Straub, Peter
Peter Straub nasceu em Milwaukee, Wisconsin, em 1943, primeiro de três filhos de um vendedor e de uma enfermeira. O pai queria que ele fosse atleta, a mãe queria que fosse médico, mas Peter só queria saber de aprender a ler. Revirava as bibliotecas do colégio em busca de piratas, soldados, detetives e espiões, e ganhou a reputação de contador de histórias rapidamente. Ao mergulhar na carreira de escritor, já adulto, Peter Straub se tornou um dos autores de horror mais prolíficos e aclamados de todos os tempos, com inúmeros romances, contos, poemas e novelas publicadas. Entre os leitores notáveis de seu trabalho encontra-se Stephen King, também amigo pessoal e parceiro criativo em obras como O Talismã e A Casa Negra.
