Alighieri, Dante
Filho de Alighiero di Bellincione e de Dona Bella degli Abati, Dante nasceu em 1265 na cidade italiana de Florença. Investigações apontam que seu nome verdadeiro era Durante. Sua família era abastada e influente na cidade e, portanto, Dante teve uma boa educação. Estudou letras, ciências, artes e teologia. Sua mãe faleceu quando ele ainda era criança e seu pai quando ele tinha cerca de 18 anos. Foi abandonado por seus parentes e, mais tarde, exilado de sua terra natal por ter utilizado dinheiro público. Casou-se com Gemma Donati e com ela teve vários filhos. Todavia, ele amava mesmo era Beatrice Portinari que faleceu com 25 anos. Foi sua musa inspiradora, a qual é citada em diversas obras. Além de escritor e poeta, foi um político italiano tendo importante atuação na vida pública. Fez parte do Conselho do Estado e foi Embaixador da República. Mais tarde, obteve o título de “priore”, na época o maior da política. Dante faleceu em Ravena em setembro de 1321. |
