The success of school reform measures greatly depends on thesupport and commitment of teachers. This book examines therealities of educational change from the frontline perspective ofreform-minded teachers. It charts the perceptions and experiencesof twenty-nine teachers in grades 7 and 8 from four schooldistricts--showing how they grappled with such initiatives asintegrated curriculum, common learning standards, and alternativemodes of assessment. Ph.D. Professor e pesquisador da Lynch School of Education and Human Development do Boston College e diretor da Change, Engagement, and Innovation in Education (CHENINE), na University of Ottawa, Canadá. É presidente do ARC Educational Project, uma rede global de formuladores de políticas educacionais e líderes de associações profissionais comprometidos com o avanço das metas humanitárias na educação. Andy foi conselheiro em educação do premiê de Ontário (2015-2018) e atualmente é conselheiro da primeira-ministra da Escócia, Nicola Sturgeon. Dentre os oito prêmios de escrita em destaque conquistados por Andy está o prestigiado Grawemeyer Award in Education for Professional Capital (2015), de cem mil dólares, recebido com Michael Fullan. É Doutor em Sociologia pela University of Leeds, Inglaterra.
