This manuscript started off as letter, a letter to try and explain the chain of events that led up to a point where I decided to become a full time mom. I met my son when he was a mere 6-month-old baby who stole my heart the instant I laid eyes on him. We face a lot of challenges and through scripture I am guided by the Holy Spirit into making the right decisions, not only for myself but for my son too. I might not have listened every time but He never stopped guiding me. I was born into a Christian family and I have always had a relationship with my Saviour. I went through my rebel teen years and the Holy Spirit guided me towards the life changing moment when I met my son. Everything I am, I am through the love of my Heavenly Father. This book goes deep into who I am and undresses every part of my being, so that the reader knows exactly what I am feeling and how I got through it in the end, not alone, not without a whole string of wrong decisions, but with God right by my side. Being judged and spat on for trying to do good in this world is a challenge I found most difficult to accept. I realized that people didn't understand why I did what I did and by writing this book I hope I made it clear enough for everyone to see. I chose to love instead of hate. I chose to listen to God's voice and not be discouraged by my fellow Christians who felt that I am stabbing my "own" people in the back. I think back of how Jesus was mocked and tortured right before He was crucified, not even then did He choose to hate but He chose to love instead. Trying to show people how incredible it is once you open your heart to hear God's voice. God guided me through every step of writing this book. It makes me more vulnerable for criticism, but if this book can touch the lives of people like my son has touched mine and the people in my family, then the mission was accomplished. I want people to change their perspective when it comes to the colour of someone else's skin. I want them to be colour blind. I never knew I had the need to write as much I as did the moment I started. My life story is written by the hands of my Heavenly Father. I believe He wants me to share this particular story with the world, to inspire, encourage or even just to motivate people to not be so reluctant to change, to not judge people by the colour of their skins, but to speak the language of love instead.
