Badiou, Alain
Vive em Paris e é considerado um dos maiores filósofos da atualidade. Atua também como romancista e dramaturgo. Entre 1956 e 1961, estudou filosofia na École Normale Supérieure de Paris, onde atualmente é professor emérito e fundou o Centre International d’Étude de la Philosophie Française Contemporaine. Entre 1969 e 1999, lecionou na Université Paris 8. É filho de Raymond Badiou, nome que se destacou durante a Resistência Francesa. Participou das manifestações de Maio de 1968, fundou o Parti Socialiste Unifié (PSU) e foi um dos dirigentes da L’Union des Communistes de France Marxiste-Léniniste (UCF-ML), organização maoista francesa. Entre 1985 e 2007, fez parte da Organisation Politique, grupo de extrema-esquerda. Orientou, entre outros, os filósofos Slavoj Žižek e Vladimir Safatle. |
