Milton, John
John Milton, nascido em Birmingham, Inglaterra, formou-se em Literatura Inglesa e Espanhol na Universidade de Wales (Swansea) em 1978. Fez seu mestrado pela PUC, São Paulo, em Linguística Aplicada (1986), e seu doutorado pela Universidade de São Paulo em Literatura Inglesa (1990). Atualmente é Professor Titular em Estudos da Tradução na FFLCH-USP. Pesquisa na área de tradução literária, sociologia e história da tradução no Brasil. Completou sua Livre Docência em 1999 e tornou-se Professor Titular em 2012. Foi coordenador do Programa de Pós-graduação em Estudos da Tradução (TRADUSP) (Mestrado e Doutorado) da FFLCH-USP de 2002 a 2015. É autor de O poder da tradução (Ars Poética, 1993). Organizou Modern Poetry in Translation nº 6 (King’s College, Londres, 1994), volume dedicado à tradução de poesia brasileira. |
