ROBERTO BOLAÑO nasceu em 1953, em Santiago do Chile, e é considerado um dos grandes nomes da literatura mundial. Passou a adolescência no México e voltou ao seu país pouco antes do golpe que depôs Salvador Allende. Em 1977, instalou-se na Espanha, onde começou sua carreira literária.
