This book tell the stories of a young man growing up in rural Clintwood, Virginia during the 1940's thru 1960's, in a mountainous region of Dickenson, County. The stories and poetry are a collections of advantures and daily life on Camp Creek, growing fruits and vegetables on the steep slopes of the rugged Pine mountains. The river that flowed by the authors home was called Pound River, and was selected as the title to this book, because of it location and the importance for the rural river for the rural county is flows through. It includes poetry written in the 1940 and was included as a book for enjoyable reading of boys from 8 to 80 years old. It is intended as a comical look at a simple life in the years after the end of the WW-II.
