Chaos reigns as immense powerful forces collide with catastrophic consequences when the war between Dark and Light once more erupts. Tarsier has its own issues, with the emperor Brunell furious at the events concerning his daughter, Glycerine, which took place on a comet high above Deburon. As an act of revenge, Cai, a new High Priestess for the Darkener Cult, is elected and sent forth to aid the destruction of the Light forces upon Earth, but all is not what it seems with those he has commanded to do his bidding. Amongst the Elite One Hundred, traitors are running riot and struggling to assert their own authority upon the mission and Cai becomes intimately involved with Ranar, a mysterious stranger who wishes to hold more than power. Also, aware that he has rebellion occurring beneath his very nose in Brule, the capital city, Brunell sets his own children against each other, Menoch, Quanta and his only surviving daughter, Lapeche. With their differences settled and betrayals revealed, the survivors, with the help of Freegan, their mother, embark upon a mission to unravel the intricacies of the Tarsier uprising and uncover the truth behind the all-powerful Numina known as Sireena.
