Robert Jordan, pseudônimo de James Oliver Rigney Jr., nasceu em 17 de outubro de 1948, na Carolina do Sul, Estados Unidos. Aprendeu a ler sozinho e aos 5 anos vivia imerso em histórias de autores como Mark Twain e Júlio Verne. Serviu na Guerra do Vietnã, formou-se em física e, em 1977, quando trabalhava para a Marinha como engenheiro nuclear, começou a escrever. Catorze volumes compõem a série A Roda do Tempo, adaptada para as telas pelo Amazon Prime Video e considerada a maior e mais elaborada obra de literatura fantástica já criada desde os livros de J.R.R. Tolkien. Robert Jordan morreu em 16 de setembro de 2007. |
