Understanding that he will never be accepted anywhere, Harriet and David are torn between their instincts as parents and their shocked reaction to this fierce and unlovable child whose existence shatters their belief in a benign world.
Lessing, Doris
Nasceu em Kermanshah, no Irã, em 22 de outubro de 1919. Autora da obra-prima O carnê dourado – um marco do feminismo na literatura –, saiu de casa aos 15 anos e teve vários empregos, enquanto aprofundava suas leituras sobre política e sociologia. Em sua obra tratou de temas diferentes que iam de justiça social a ficção científica. Após ganhar vários prêmios, Lessing recebeu também o Nobel de Literatura aos 88 anos de idade, tornando-se a escritora mais idosa a carregar esta premiação tão ambicionada. Faleceu em Londres, Inglaterra, no dia 17 de novembro de 2013. |
