Gerry, a present day teenager from New York City is newly arrived in Vermont and unhappy about it. Coming under the spell of hemlock trees, which exert magical powers in certain circumstances, he finds himself back in the 1770s in the company of the Green Mountain Boys, and meets Ethan Allen.
