Lily Graham cresceu na África do Sul e era jornalista. Quando criança, sonhava em ser escritora e tinha manuscritos inacabados que enchiam as gavetas de sua escrivaninha. Mas foi só aos 30 anos que finalmente terminou um deles. Começou escrevendo livros infantis, mas quando sua mãe foi diagnosticada com câncer, ela escreveu uma história para lidar com o medo e a dor pela qual estava passando – esse se tornou seu primeiro romance de ficção para mulheres, publicado em 2016. Desde então, escreveu seis romances. Os quatro primeiros foram uma mistura de ficção e drama, mas nos últimos anos encontrou seu nicho na ficção histórica. Foi preciso passar dos 30 anos para perceber que essas eram as histórias que ela realmente queria contar. Desde então, escreveu dois outros romances de ficção histórica, incluindo The Child of Auschwitz, uma história que se viu compelida a escrever quando leu sobre uma mulher que deu à luz uma criança depois de sobreviver a um campo de concentração. |
