Grahame, Kenneth
Kenneth Grahame (8/3/1859, Edimburgo, Escócia - 6/7/1932, Berkshire, Inglaterra) foi criado pela avó, depois que seu pai, arrasado com a morte da esposa, teve problemas com a bebida.
Aluno no destaque na escola St. Edward`s , em Oxford, a falta de recuso impediu - o de ir a universidade.
Empregou-se, então, no Banco da Inglaterra, onde ficou até se aposentar.
Nas horas vagas, escrevia artigos para jornais e publicou três livros de ensaios.
Em 1899, casou-se com Elspeth Thomson e tiveram um filho, Alistair, com muitos problemas de saúde.
Todas as noites, Grahame lhe contava histórias sobre animais do rio, que com o tempo, ganharam novos personagens e se tornaram mais complexas .
Publicadas em 1908, em pouco tempo tornou-se um best -seller. |
